Our Story

We began farming together in Spring 2020 on a shared 7+ acre site run by Urban Growers Collective in South Chicago alongside other Black and Indigenous land stewards at the height of the pandemic. We moved to our permanent farm home at 5800 S. Ada Street in early 2022. When we think of our farm, we see the lineage of our people, from the various traumas that started this journey to the healing where our journey continues. The farm continues to evolve just as we do as individuals.

We always give gratitude to the Earth, just as our ancestors have since the beginning of time. We plant with generations of wisdom on how to best honor and cultivate each crop. We celebrate how each will produce vast amounts of food, starting with us laying the foundation with our hands. We eagerly await the transformation from seed to fruit, as new life comes up from the soil.
