We envision a community in which we are all fed spiritually, physically, and emotionally. We sell and donate the food we grow, host workshops for community members of all generations, and partner with like-minded Black-owned organizations and brands.</image:title>

      <image:title>Our Story - Our Story</image:title>
<image:caption>We began farming together in Spring 2020 on a shared 7+ acre site run by Urban Growers Collective in South Chicago alongside other Black and Indigenous land stewards at the height of the pandemic. When we think of our farm, we see the lineage of our people, from the various traumas that started this journey to the healing where our journey continues. The farm continues to evolve just as we do as individuals. We always give gratitude to the Earth, just as our ancestors have since the beginning of time. We plant with generations of wisdom on how to best honor and cultivate each crop. We celebrate how each will produce vast amounts of food, starting with us laying the foundation with our hands. We eagerly await as the transformation from seed to fruit , as new life comes up from the soil.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Marvin Yates “Last year I saw Bweza and Mecca doing some farm work across the street from my home and introduced myself told them that I lived across the street. And I appreciate the work that they were doing and asked how I could go about participating or working for them one day. This year I begin working on the farm partnering with Bweza and Mecca. I’ve been learning about planting and harvesting fruits and vegetables and more. It’s been very good learning experience for me, I had never harvested or planted before and I had never worked on a farm. I’ve learned a lot. Hopefully we’ll be working together for a very long time and I just wanna thank them for accepting me into their family I really appreciate it.”</image:caption>
